Meet Ms. Katia

Based in San Diego, Katia Graham serves on the Freedom to Read Statement Taskforce for the Office for Intellectual Freedom of the American Library Association. A reporter turned librarian, she believes everyone has a story, pure and simple.

Prior to founding Librarian on the Go, Graham worked as the Youth Services Librarian at La Jolla Library and as the Children’s Librarian at Coronado Public Library. She has a master's degree of Management in Library and Information Science from the University of Southern California.

Graham honed her storytelling and information literacy expertise in newsrooms like NBC affiliate KYMA, NY1 News, and ABC World News Tonight. She has a master’s degree in broadcast from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in English from Barnard College.

A native of El Salvador who grew up in Miami, FL, Graham is fluent in Spanish. She proudly leads bilingual storytime and developed San Diego Public Library's initiative to combat the Spanish disinformation crisis.
